Felix Gomez Jr Programming glitch on the Comelec Registration System

I heard the news on radio yesterday about this programming glitch on the Comelec’s Registration System. A lot of registrants have a birthday of Jan 1, 1901! What happened? How? One of the representatives from the comelec says that it happened because some registrants did not input their date of birth thus the system picks up the default year.
